Dentures do NOT last forever…
Dentures do not last forever, like a shoe needs to be replaced, dentures should too!
Over time, dentures will need to be relined, rebased, or remade due to normal wear.
The average lifespan of a denture is about 5 years. It depends on what you eat and your
bone structure as they can last longer and they can also wear out faster.
Dentures may need to be replaced if they become loose and the teeth show signs of wear.
Dentures become loose because your mouth changes with age. Bone and gum shrink, causing jaws to align differently.
Shrinking ridges can cause dentures to feel loose. Loose dentures can cause sores and also makes chewing more difficult.
It’s important to replace worn or poorly-fitting dentures before they cause problems.
Consider seeing your Denturist once a year for an annual checkup.
